Emergency Energy Fund
The Emergency Energy Fund (EEF) provides financial assistance to low-income families/individuals, including social assistance recipients and people on fixed incomes, facing energy-related emergencies.
The EEF will cover eligible costs equivalent to a maximum of two months of energy arrears, and the security deposit and reconnection fees related to natural gas, oil and other forms of energy.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
You must:
1. complete an Application Form;
2. have proof of income;
3. verify expenses for which the Application is being made (copies of bills and/or Disconnection Notice);
4. provide an explanation of circumstances, surrounding the need to access EEF;
5. provide information as to other resources/avenues sought to rectify the situation; and
6. provide a plan as to how he/she will prevent the situation from recurring.
Please note an individual is eligible for Emergency Energy Funding only once in a lifetime.
