There are two types of non-profit housing providers in the Rainy River District:
- Private Non-Profit
- Urban Native
There are currently ten providers of Private Non-Profit and Urban Native housing, these providers own and manage their projects. Both have independent Boards to manage their projects. Operating agreements are the basic contract between the Ministry and the Non-Profit Corporation and projects are developed under a number of different non-profit housing programs.
