Principles of Service Delivery
The Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) represents citizens from municipalities and unincorporated areas across the Rainy River District. Land Ambulance services administered by the Rainy River DSSAB must address fundamental service principles including:
- Accessibility
- Equal access to ambulance service must be provided to all persons in the District and resources must be maintained to ensure that access;
- Integration
- Each ambulance and ambulance service is an integral part of the health care and emergency services system of the District;
- Seamless
- The closest ambulance will respond, at any time, in any jurisdiction, regardless of political, geographical, administrative, or other boundaries;
- Accountability
- Ambulance service providers must be medically, operationally and financially accountable for the provision of the highest possible quality of ambulance service and patient care;
- Responsiveness
- The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Delivery Agents and Service Providers must ensure ambulance services are responsible to the evolving health care, demographic, socioeconomic, and medical needs of their communities.
