Principles of Service Delivery

The Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB) represents citizens from municipalities and unincorporated areas across the Rainy River District. Land Ambulance services administered by the Rainy River DSSAB must address fundamental service principles including:

Accessibility

Equal access to ambulance service must be provided to all persons in the District and resources must be maintained to ensure that access;

Integration

Each ambulance and ambulance service is an integral part of the health care and emergency services system of the District;

Seamless

The closest ambulance will respond, at any time, in any jurisdiction, regardless of political, geographical, administrative, or other boundaries;

Accountability

Ambulance service providers must be medically, operationally and financially accountable for the provision of the highest possible quality of ambulance service and patient care;

Responsiveness

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Delivery Agents and Service Providers must ensure ambulance services are responsible to the evolving health care, demographic, socioeconomic, and medical needs of their communities.

Land ambulance services may be provided outside the jurisdiction of the Rainy River DSSAB and within unincorporated, First Nation communities and adjacent districts.
